We Came, We Saw, We Drank

Won’t you join us for the next meeting of The Miles Raymond Society, our new wine club?

The first meeting of The Miles Raymond Society — The Park’s wine club, helmed by our beverage director Sean Kelly — was nothing short of inspired. It was a delight to socialise with familiar and new faces and taste at least five different bottles of rosé. (Maybe six? Our memory is a bit hazy.)

Three fun facts for those who couldn’t join us: Rosé is one of the oldest wines, beloved by the ancient Greeks and Romans. Its colour comes from the degree of skin contact, versus blending. And although its capital is Provence, where around 40% of the global supply is cultivated, it is made in many wine regions around the world. It turns out that we are partial to the Lake Garda region in Italy.

On that note, we hope you can join us for our next instalment, from 5 to 6.30 on Thursday, 11th June. We will be tasting probably far too many Rare and Unusual White Wines of Italy, accompanied by a bounty of whatever scrumptious small plates chef Alex dreams up, all for £60. The event will be limited to 15 guests, and if you’d like to join us for dinner afterwards and move over to Pinot Noir, as the heroes of Sideways would do, you are oenophiles after our own hearts and we salute you.
