The face of breakfast
Our breakfast regulars are already well-acquainted with Veronica Popescu, but several of you who are new to this rich Park tradition have asked to learn a bit more about our friendly colleague.
Born in Romania, she grew up spending a lot of time in the kitchen. ‘I really enjoyed taking care of my family through food and making sure everyone was happy at the table,’ she says. Old habits die hard!
‘The way you start your day makes a big difference. I really admire people who come to us in the morning, get a newspaper, enjoy a coffee or a pot of tea with some eggs. Or even those who take a walk in the park before work or school and then pop in for a quick breakfast. It’s a beautiful lifestyle,’ she says. She often skips the meal herself, but when she does sit back and luxuriate in the meal, she tends to go for our pancakes — which make her even more popular with her five-year-old twin boys. ‘I am very proud of them,’ she says.
