Liza Marshall has enjoyed a long and illustrious career in film and television production. She is currently in the midst of an especially eventful Maggie O’Farrell phase—Liza recently produced the award-winning film Hamnet, and has another O’Farrell-related projects in the works (read on!). She joined us for a Long Lunch at The Park with her great friend Martha Lane Fox.
Is the Long Lunch a habit or aberration for you?
Definitely an aberration, as I’m always working!
What makes a Long Lunch enjoyable, versus a chore?
Comfy banquettes, tasty food and sparkling company.
Who was your companion at The Park, and why were they selected?
Martha Lane Fox, my best friend since university and an awesome woman — and we both actually like eating food.
What did you eat and drink today, and why?
The crab linguine, seabass, scallops, corn ribs and a salad.

Tell us about your favorite Long Lunch of all time.
After I got married at Marylebone Registry Office, we had an amazing long lunch at the long-gone Los Providores on Marylebone High Street with our kids and all our friends.
If you could Long-Lunch with absolutely anyone on the planet — no offence to Martha — who would it be?
Marilyn Monroe, as we’re working on a film about her and I think she’d be a brilliant combination of extremely witty and very interesting.
What is your favourite time of year in which to enjoy a Long Lunch?
Definitely summer.
The best day of the week for a long lunch is….?
Friday.

Any cultural recommendations for us? I just saw Club Kid at Cannes and totally loved it. I also just binged DTF St. Louis which is well worth a watch.
